Manned Guarding

Professional security officers protecting your premises, people and assets, with a visible presence where your business needs it most.

Discuss your requirement
People make the difference

A visible deterrent.
A capable person on site.

Cameras and access systems provide useful information. An officer adds a human presence: someone who notices a concern, speaks with visitors and helps your people when the situation changes.

Rescue Security provides manned guarding for commercial buildings, construction sites, business parks, residential developments and industrial premises. Cover can focus on an entrance, active patrols or a combination of positions across the property.

Our operatives

The officer represents
your business, too.

Competence and conduct both matter. We select professional, trained and experienced personnel with the working environment in mind.

SIA-licensed for the role
Officers hold the relevant licence for their assigned security work. The duties determine the licence required, rather than the uniform or job title alone.
Trained & experienced
Security awareness, sound judgement and communication are central to the role. Discuss any additional qualifications or specialist training your site requires when arranging cover.
Selected for the environment
A reception desk, busy gatehouse and construction perimeter need different approaches. We consider presentation, public contact and the demands of the post when selecting personnel.
Protection across the premises

Different positions.
Different priorities.

Tell us where the pressure points are. The useful question is what an officer needs to protect, notice or control in each part of the site.

AT THE BOUNDARY

Perimeters & vulnerable areas

A visible presence around fences, external storage and quiet parts of the property can help deter trespass, theft and damage. Patrol priorities reflect the layout and the assets at risk.

AT THE ENTRANCE

Gatehouses, vehicles & deliveries

Manage arrivals against the site’s access requirements, distinguish expected visitors from unplanned calls, and help keep delivery activity controlled.

INSIDE THE BUILDING

Reception & shared spaces

Provide a professional point of contact, guide visitors to the right place and support the security of staff, tenants and shared facilities.

WHEN THE SITE IS QUIETER

Vacant areas & out-of-hours cover

Focus attention on unused buildings, equipment and areas with fewer people around. Discuss patrols and fixed positions against the actual hours you need.

Choose the right kind of cover

A regular presence
or support through a change.

Ongoing guarding

For premises where a consistent officer presence supports the working day, tenants or site operations.

Temporary cover

For a vacancy, refurbishment, change of use or a defined period when the property needs additional attention.

Additional personnel

For a busier period or a specific concern that your existing security arrangement needs help to manage.

What determines the right arrangement?

The number of posts, operating hours, patrol area, public contact and specialist requirements. Share these details so we can discuss staffing and availability.

Screened before the assignment

Background checks.
Clear responsibilities.

Our BS 7858 screening process builds a documented picture of the individual before they take responsibility for your premises. We check identity, address history and the right to work, verify employment history and investigate unexplained gaps.

Criminal-record checks are appropriate to the role. Standard or enhanced DBS checks apply only to eligible duties; the level of disclosure is matched to the assignment.

What we establish

  • Identity and address: check supporting documents and address history.
  • Employment history: verify previous employment and account for gaps, with any extended history requirement agreed for the contract.
  • Eligibility to work: complete right-to-work checks and verify the relevant SIA licence.
  • Assignment requirements: confirm any additional checks, site permissions or qualifications before deployment.

Speak to us about the screening evidence your procurement process needs.

Briefed for the place

The site brief turns experience into useful cover.

A good induction explains how the premises work, where an officer should focus and who makes decisions when an issue arises.

  • Construction: site access, visitor rules, PPE, deliveries and any site-card requirements.
  • Logistics: vehicle movements, driver checks, authorised loading areas and shift changes.
  • Commercial premises: visitor authorisation, staff access, restricted areas and opening or closing procedures.

Specialist environments need their own brief. Tell us about additional training or permissions your site requires so these can be confirmed for the officers assigned.

Professional conduct

Calm communication.
Consistent handovers.

We emphasise a professional, measured approach to difficult conversations: listen, explain the site rules clearly and involve the appropriate contact when a concern needs further support. The aim is to reduce tension while protecting people and your organisation’s reputation.

Continuity between shifts

Assignment instructions set out patrol priorities, access arrangements, reporting and the information an incoming officer needs. Handover details can include outstanding incidents, expected visitors and changes to site conditions.

Relief and absence cover

We provide replacement cover when an officer is unavailable. The service agreement sets out how an absence is reported, who updates your site contact and the response arrangements for your location. Any specific replacement target is agreed as part of the contract.

Useful to know

Choosing an officer for your site.

Can officers combine patrol and gatehouse duties?

That depends on the site and whether an entrance must remain continuously staffed. We discuss the priorities together so one officer is not expected to cover conflicting responsibilities at the same time.

Can you meet our screening or training requirements?

Our guards undergo BS 7858 screening and background checks. Tell us about any additional training, evidence or site permissions required so we can confirm these for the personnel and assignment.

Can guarding work alongside our CCTV or reception team?

Yes. The officer’s role can complement existing personnel and systems. We clarify the division of responsibilities so the guarding presence fills the gaps you actually need covered.
